Remote firm Keystone Law finds a permanent home

mercredi 9 novembre 2016

A firm which built its reputation on allowing lawyers to work anywhere has taken up offices in the heart of London’s legal district.

Keystone Law, the self-styled 'agile working pioneer', has moved into offices in Chancery Lane previously home to top 100 firm Michelmores.

The site will house 40 support staff across IT, finance, marketing and business development, secretarial support and paralegals.

While hot-desking facilities are available, the site will also offer Keystone lawyers a permanent office space for those who want to work more closely with the back-office team.

The firm, established in 2002, now has more than 200 lawyers – most recruited from other commercial firms.

While the firm remains committed to its original idea of having lawyers working from anywhere, it has responded to requests from some of its lawyers to provide a central working space.

James Knight, Keystone Law’s managing director and founder said: ‘In the wake of a busy two years, it quickly became apparent that our previous headquarters no longer met the needs of a fast-growing, innovative practice.

‘Our new home not only puts us in an ideal location to deliver more for our lawyers and clients, it will enable us to build even stronger links with the industry.’

Meanwhile, the firm has announced that Jonathan Brenner, founder of Lawyers on Demand (LoD) will join Keystone in an additional role.

Brenner will continue in his executive role at LoD, but will work with Keystone to help its bring on board new recruits.

Brenner said: ‘LoD and Keystone are champions of innovative and flexible product offerings, but their models are clearly different. The role at Keystone will give me the ability to get back to my grass roots in law firm lawyer recruitment at the highest level.’
