Firm hires: Verisona Law

Portsmouth legal practice Verisona Law has announced new appointments to both commercial and private client areas of the firm.

Muhammed Poswall originally graduated with an electronics engineering degree from the University of Southampton in 2005, but after a year working in property development and construction, he decided upon a change of career and returned to study a law conversion course. He went on to complete his LPC at the College of Law in Guildford.

He then spent four years gaining experience in commercial law with local firms before embarking on his training contract with Lawdit Solicitors in Southampton. Muhammed qualified as a solicitor in 2014 after undertaking a training contract in commercial corporate law, intellectual property, patent issues, property and commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He now joins Verisona as an associate in the commercial dispute team.

‘I found Verisona Law to be a very positive, outward looking firm with a diverse portfolio of clients, so was excited to be offered the opportunity,’ he says.

Meanwhile, personal injury specialist, David Hawkins, has joined Verisona Law’s dedicated team for claims of abuse. With nearly 15 years’ experience in acting for claimants on PI cases in West Sussex, David was aware of the firm’s enviable reputation in such a developing area of the profession.

‘I have always taken great pride in representing people who have been hurt through no fault of their own,’ says Verisona Law’s new litigation executive who has worked on cases ranging from individual compensation to employers liability for over £250,000.

‘I once acted for four children whose mother was killed in a house fire and the financial support I was able to secure for them enabled one of them to carry on their education and become an airline pilot. You can never replace or minimise loss, but you can secure a hopeful future.’

‘I wanted to bring my expertise and experience to a developing area of the law and Verisona Law is at the forefront of cases of historic abuse, the extent of which is being revealed to us on a daily basis.’

‘We are very proud to be in a position to recruit for and support legal services in such diverse areas of the profession,’ said Sue Ball, managing director of Verisona Law. ‘We believe in applying the same professionalism and attention to client care in all we offer and are delighted to welcome both Muhammed and David to the firm.’
